GBV Prevention, Mitigation and Response at Rokon and Dollo Counties in Central Equatoria State

Due to intercommunal conflicts and cattle raiding in Jambo (Mundri east) and Sereng Payam in Dollo county respectively, families (Majorly women and children) ran for refuge in Rokon Centre and Kuda centre (dollo) respectively. Therefore MaCDA through IOM funding intervened by a 3 month rapid response fund (RRF) project targeting the IDPs and Host Community. This intervention targeted the following activities: 1. Community consultations 2. Recruitment and training of Case Workers, women and other community leaders, community based protection committee, and health care providers. 3. Development of referral pathway. 4. Establishment of WGSS.

Project Successes and achievements

During the 3 months project which kicked off at the end of December 2018, the more than one thousand direct beneficiaries and 5,000 indirect beneficiaries benefited from capacity building sessions, livelihood activities, establishment of women and girl friendly spaces and also development of a referral pathway for GBV survivors and cases.
